Senior Communications Specialist

Position Summary

UWorld is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist to produce content, edit and serve as a PR lead for UWorld. The Senior Communications Specialist will produce and edit copy for campaigns, blogs, social media, brochures, whitepapers, marketing slicks, web pages, bylined articles and press releases.


Minimum Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, marketing, business or related field required; master’s degree preferred

Minimum Experience Required

  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in a prior senior-level communications position
  • Knowledge of E-Learning and exam prep market preferred but not required

JOB DUTIES (including but not limited to):

Copywriting & Editing 

  • Produce and edit content for various forms of marketing material – brochures, sell sheets, eBooks, infographics, etc.
  • Assist with content for the ongoing refresh of the UWorld website
  • Compose thought leadership pieces, including whitepapers, surveys and bylined articles
  • Create the appropriate message and tone of voice for various audiences
  • Work within the UWorld marketing team to produce campaigns
  • Serve as team editor to review and proof all external-facing pieces of branded/marketing collateral before they’re published

Public Relations 

  • Serve as the PR lead
  • Produce and disseminate press releases
  • Develop and expand relationships with editorial community


  • Own assigned pieces of the UWorld marketing plan
  • Create and actively/regularly measure and report metrics to measure success
  • Enforce UWorld design/brand standards

  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Superior organizational and self-motivation skills
  • Ability to define and report metrics of success
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, communication and PR tools and platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to react in a constructive manner to direct feedback and constructive criticism
  • Exceptional attention to detail with respect to adhering to and enforcing UWorld brand standard
