Business Intelligence/ Data Analyst

Location: Dallas, TX

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to closely collaborate with our Marketing and Software teams in creating cross-discipline data solutions to inform business insights and strategies. This is a newly created position, and the analyst will play a critical role in designing and developing techniques, metrics, and dashboards to shape UWorld’s success story.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or related field; Masters preferred

Minimum Experience

  • 2 years of experience with SQL server
  • 2 years of experience
    • in developing business analytics solutions
    • with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, Qualtrics, or Klipfolio
    • with digital marketing analytics, as well as user behavior analytics (Google Analytics preferred)
  • Well-versed in multiple computer languages (C# or Java preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using advanced statistical software such as SAS, MATLAB, R Studio, or other equivalent statistical software preferred
  • Experience with price point analysis preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong mathematical background and knowledge in at least one of the following fields: statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, operations research, econometrics, and/or information retrieval
  • Extensive knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to draw conclusions using various resources
  • Ability to work independently and as a shared resource among multiple teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail, and strong work ethic


Data Analysis and Gathering

  • Develop techniques, metrics, and dashboards using efficient algorithms and data structures to influence business insights and strategies
  • Assist in the writing, editing and publication of periodic market analysis and development reports
  • Deliver insights from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets
  • Analyze data analysis requests obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems
  • Define data modeling requirements, validation of content, and problem-solving parameters
  • Identify opportunities to develop new strategies and improve business performance
  • Utilize mathematical modeling and other optimization methods to perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Develop and maintain processes for gathering and processing data for recurrent analytical requirements
  • Review and analyze market trends to develop price models and provide insight on impact of price changes on growth rates and profitability


  • Work closely in cross functional teams to meet their data or analytics needs
  • Communicate and present data to management by developing reports


  • Stay up-to-date with the latest analytical tools and predictive models
  • Identify and troubleshoot data integration and validation issues
