Senior Product Development Manager

UWorld is seeking an exceptional Senior Product Manager to help create and build out our institutional product strategy based on our suite of online test bank preparatory materials. The ideal candidate is recognized as having serious technology knowledge, keen market research capabilities, and an understanding of how to work with educational institutions. We are looking for a candidate who can thrive in ambiguity and handle competing priorities with ease. As UWorld's Senior Product Manager you will work with numerous business stakeholders and be responsible for identifying, defining, communicating, and overseeing execution of products and features that further our mission and delight our users.

Minimum Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related degree/experience
  • Master’s in Information Systems preferred

Minimum Experience Required

  • 5+ years of product management experience, defining and leading the execution of strategy for multiple product lines
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle, including documenting and managing user stories, product requirements, roadmaps, and developer and designer work streams
  • Proven ability in developing product strategies aligned with organization goals and effectively communicating recommendations to executive management
  • Experience working with a software engineering team from ideation to release, particularly in understanding technical trade-offs, detailing use cases, and removing roadblocks

Required Skills

  • Complete customer focus with a deep understanding of UI/UX
  • Experience working in an Agile development and rapid prototyping process
  • Proven ability to use data analytics to understand customer/user behavior and product performance
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally; an active listener and clear communicator; seeks win-win outcomes
  • Strong product management skills, including the ability to differentiate between building what is asked for and what is truly needed, while keeping in mind long-term product goals
  • Ability to communicate a clear set of business priorities and customer imperatives at all times and actively work with the extended team to drive key trade-off decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead via influence, patience, and determination


Job Duties (Including but not limited to)

Developing product roadmaps/implementing innovative product ideas (50%)

  • Create the vision for UWorld institutional products, informing the product roadmap for all devices and platforms with new ideas based on ongoing customer research, market/competitive analysis, and product performance
  • Lead and influence a cross-functional team of talented and dedicated staff, working closely with developers and designers, to launch new ideas and improve existing ones
  • Integrate customer insights into development and prioritization process
  • Conduct external landscape analysis
  • Maintain prioritized backlog based on impact and ROI to achieve goals and KPIs
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate status to multiple constituencies, including senior leadership
  • Identify and report on key metrics for your product area and for specific initiatives
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding of your product
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps, and generate new ideas that grow usage, improve customer experience, and drive growth
  • Synthesize market changes and technology improvements into actionable improvements for the platform


Team collaboration (50%)

  • Collaborate with technology, sales, content leads, and other relevant teams to provide the market context and key drivers that feed the revenue forecast and long-term outlook
  • Collaborate across the organization with design, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to drive clarity and alignment, build consensus, make decisions, and prioritize the product roadmap
  • Develop business models, identify target markets, perform competitive research, and develop key differentiators for proposed products and solutions
  • Work with team members to provide and receive feedback with tact and diplomacy
